Synopsis
Members of the Osage tribe in northeastern Oklahoma are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s, sparking a major Bureau of Investigation (which became the FBI in 1935) investigation directed by a 29-year-old J. Edgar Hoover and former Texas Ranger Tom White, described as “an old-style lawman.”
According to Yahoo!, the movie is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by David Grann. The Apple TV+ film explores what happened to the Osage Nation after the discovery of oil in their Oklahoma land, which led to a boom in their wealth but also brought unwanted interest from outsiders, leading to a series of grisly murders of countless people from the Native American tribe.
The movie was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro, Lily Gladstone, John Lithgow and a host of other prominent actors and actresses.
