It's a date: Mizzou basketball slated to play at Kansas on Dec. 11
The rescheduled resumption of the Border War has a confirmed date.
Missouri men's basketball will make the trip to Lawrence, Kansas' Allen Fieldhouse to face the Jayhawks on Dec. 11.
It'll be the first meeting between the rivals in an official capacity since Feb. 25, 2012, Missouri's last season as a member of the Big 12 Conference.
The teams' last showdown in any capacity was an October 2017 preseason exhibition at Kansas City's Sprint Center, which served as the unofficial MU debuts for Michael Porter Jr., Jontay Porter and Jeremiah Tilmon.
The Jayhawks lead the all-time series 172-95, having first played in March 1907.
The return of the Border War was originally announced in October 2019 with six games to take place from 2020-25. The coronavirus pandemic pushed the schedule back one season to 2021-26.
Kansas will host the showdown in the new six-game series in 2021 and 2023, while Mizzou Arena will be the venue for the 2022 and 2024 clashes. The Sprint Center will be the home of the final two currently scheduled matchups in 2025 and 2026.
The school's football teams are also scheduled to face off in 2025, 2026, 2031 and 2032.
