NCAA Bracketology: Where Mizzou basketball would be seeded today

Eric Blum
Columbia Daily Tribune

Missouri men's basketball is on the doorstep of returning to the NCAA Tournament.

After not making March Madness since 2017-18 — coach Cuonzo Martin's first season in Columbia — the Tigers are still in prime position entering the final week of February.

We've compiled a list of where Missouri is projected to be seeded and what opponent it could play in a first-round NCAA Tournament game.

According to Bracket Matrix, Missouri is listed on all 111 online NCAA Tournament projections it could find, with an average seeding of 5.87, down more than a point from last week's overall projection and two points from the same combined prediction from two weeks ago.

The entire NCAA men's tournament is scheduled to take place in the state of Indiana, with most games being held in Indianapolis, which was already scheduled to host this season's Final Four before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Missouri guard Drew Buggs (2) drives around South Carolina guard AJ Lawson (00) during a game Saturday at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C.
