Volunteering pays off for the Elks Lodge. Laurie Elks Lodge #2705 members took care of the parking and shuttle service at this years Shootout boat race held in August.

Working for a share of the local charitable proceeds generated by the Shootout, Elks Lodge volunteers earned a record $20,950.

“This will go a long ways toward our up coming Christmas Basket Program and all of our other benevolence projects throughout the year,” Elks president, Tom Eisenach said.

The lodge delivers food, toys and toiletries to make Christmas merry for many local families old and young. Chairman Jack Stockwell says, “Thank you Shootout, we feel very fortunate to be able to make this kind of money to put back into our community.”
