The Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club reached a milestone over last weekend. The 501 (C) 3 charity has this mission statement: The Jesters of Goodwill dedicated to helping youth in-need in the Lake area.

Last weekend the charity arrived at a point where it had spent $500,051.00 helping children living poverty. This was accomplished in just over 6 years.

The following school districts are served by the Jesters of Goodwill along with the number of child assists provided there and amount spent in each district: Camdenton – 8,636 child assists and $236,747.38 spent; Climax Springs – 6,971 child assists and $44,483.82 spent; Eldon – 1,052 child assists and $43,426.43 spent; Macks Creek – 4,870 child assists and $71,000.42 spent; and School of the Osage – 4,649 child assists and $104,393.75 spent.

A total of 26,178 child assists were provided with these funds. The Charity’s fundraising partners, members and donors have made this milestone possible! The charity was founded by Danna and Denny Hiner and began assisting children in-need in August, 2014.

The Jesters of Goodwill work through the 5 school districts as well as several Social Agencies. The professionals in the field who work with these children daily make requests as to children’s needs. For confidentiality reason, the Idiots Club does not work directly with parents and children.

The Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club/Jesters of Goodwill is all volunteer and rapid response. Most requests are fulfilled within 2 to 3 days. Some needs are taken care of the same day.

The needs include personal needs such as clothes, shoes, eye glasses, Buddy Pack food, hygiene supplies, and medical and dental care. School needs are met including school supplies, club and activity participation fee, Dual Credit Scholarships, sports equipment and participation fees, band instrument rent, and college admissions and MO Options testing fees. Community needs include sports participation fees and equipment, 4-H Club participation, and camp fees.
