Rocky Mount man charged with DWI in ATV crash resulting in pair of serious injuries
A pair of men in Miller County were seriously injured early Monday morning in a DWI-related ATV crash involving a Polaris Sportsman 500.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report states that the incident occurred at 21 Kiefer Road as the eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway where it collided with a rock and ejected both the driver and passenger. Jared Davis of Rocky Mount, 37, was charged with driving while intoxicated along with unlawfully operating an ATV on the highway, driving with a revoked license and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
Davis was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital along with passenger Jason Olivo, 24, of Vista, Calif. Neither men were reported to be wearing safety devices.
The Polaris Sportsman 500 was listed as totaled and was towed from the scene.
