Osage’s Drew Edwards named a Christian Achievement Scholarship winner
Drew Allen Edwards has been named as the 2020 recipient of the Christian Achievement Scholarship awarded by the Missouri Baptist Foundation (MBF). The MBF will transfer $2,000 into Edwards’ student account at the University of Missouri – Columbia toward his upcoming fall semester's enrollment.
Each applying student prepared an essay to answer the question, “How do I put feet to my Christian service and how will a Christian Higher Education help accomplish my goals?” Edwards said, “It is easy to be a “model Christian” at church but it is hard to be one every day of the week. We have to do our best as Christians and followers of Christ, to spread God’s word and be living examples of him.”
MBF President, Dr. Neil Franks remarked, “We believe in Christian higher education, and we want to make it slightly more affordable to at least a few worthy Missouri Baptist students. We are very happy for Mr. Edwards, and are delighted we can encourage him in his journey."
More than 50 students applied for just thirteen scholarships being offered by the MBF this year. The MBF board of trustees has a desire to help students with an interest in a Christian higher education knowing that it can make an eternal difference in advancing the Gospel.
The next scholarship application period begins in January of 2021, students can visit the website at www.mbfn.org for more information. To benefit a student with the gift of a Christian higher education, you can reach the MBF at 800-776-0747 or email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
