Lake of the Ozarks weekend fishing report- June 5, 2020

The lake level was 659.4; generation of 12,500 CFS throughout the week for a level of 659.4 by the weekend.  Surface temperature at Bagnell Dam was 67 degrees. Truman Lake was at 712.9 level.  

To Note

The Lower Osage is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is from the 22- to 38-mile mark, the Upper Osage is from the 38-mile mark to the Route 65 Bridge.

Tournament Results

Roger and Randy Krull won the Bass World Sports tournament last Sunday with five bass weighing 20.56 pounds. 

Bagnell Dam spillway/Osage River 

Water clarity: Clear.  Black bass:  Good on shaky head worms in the creeks.   Crappie:  Fair on jigs and minnows. 

Lower Osage

Water clarity:  Stained.  Black bass:  Fair on wacky-rigged Senkos, floating worms and Zara Spooks along gravel banks in coves and main lake bluffs.  Crappie: Good shooting jigs under docks along gravel banks, secondary points and the main channel.  


Water clarity:  Clear on the lower end and stained on the upper end. Black bass: Fair on wacky-rigged Senkos and worms, Ned Rigs, topwater lures, Carolina-rigged Brush Hogs and plastic lizards and flipping soft plastics in the coves.  Crappie: Good trolling small crankbaits along the main channel.  


Water clarity:  Murky.  Black bass:  Fair to good on shaky head worms in the backs of creeks.     Crappie: Good shooting jigs under docks halfway back in coves or on the main channel. Catfish:  Good drifting cut bluegill on the main channel. 

Grand Glaize

Water clarity:  Clear.   Black bass:  Good on plastic worms 1 to 6 feet deep in backs of coves and points.   Crappie:  Fair on jigs or minnows over brush 10 feet deep in the coves or over main channel brush 30 feet deep. Catfish: Good on bluff ledges with cut shad or jigs.  


Water clarity:  Muddy on upper end and stained on lower end.   Black bass: Good on Flukes, Texas-rigged plastic craws, shaky head worms and Ned Rigs along secondary points and spinnerbaits and square-bill crankbaits along docks.   Crappie: Fair on minnows 4 to 15 feet deep along docks with brush.   

Upper Osage

Water clarity:  Stained.    Black bass:  Fair on shaky head worms in coves. Crappie:  Good on jigs 4 feet deep around docks.  Catfish: Good on cut shad, shrimp and nightcrawlers. 

Truman Dam spillway

Water clarity:  Stained.  Crappie: Good on jigs and minnows in the old river channel.  White bass:  Good on jigs. Catfish:  Good on spoons.
