On August 31 at 8:20 p.m., City of Eldon Police Officers responded to a 14-year-old that was suicidal. Upon arrival, officers found the 14-year-old with numerous cuts to the forearm standing on the roof of her home threatening to jump, and bleeding from the arm.

Officers talked with the female while having safety procedures in place in case she fell or jumped. The female was talked off the roof and was transported to a medical facility where she is safe and recovering from the injuries.

In a press release issued by the Eldon Police Chief Brian Kidwell it states “Please talk with your children, if they feel this way there are resources out there to assist them before it gets to this point. The stress these children are under currently is something we as parents did not have to deal with at that age. The Eldon School system has great resources as do others. Please, if your child is having these feelings reach out and let us help them before it gets to this point.”
