Cops & Bobbers Fishing Tournament

HOOKS ANGLERS FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Posted

The annual Cops & Bobbers Fishing Tournament is back in 2025, bringing anglers and law enforcement together for a day of bass fishing, community and charity.

What started in 2014 with St. Louis County Police Department’s 4th Precinct officers has grown into a partnership between Local 110 and the St. Louis County Police Welfare Association (STLCPWA). The tournament was officially relaunched in 2020 under the joint effort of Local 110 and STLCPWA to keep the tradition alive and thriving.

The event raises funds for important causes. The Welfare Association, a nonprofit supporting officers and their families during times of need, receives 90% of the proceeds. They use these funds for officer recovery, scholarships and events honoring fallen officers. Each year, the committee also selects a local nonprofit to receive 10% of proceeds. For 2025, that beneficiary is Variety STL — The Children’s Charity, which provides programs for children with special needs.

The tournament takes place at Red Oak Resort and RV Park in Camdenton. Registration opens on Sept. 5 at the banquet hall from 4 to 8 p.m., with dinner served from 6 to 7 p.m. A silent auction runs alongside registration.

Fishing day is Sept. 6. Early risers can register and enjoy breakfast starting at 5:30 a.m. Take-off is set for 6:30 a.m., with an early weigh-in at 1 p.m. and final weigh-in from 2:30 to 3 p.m.

Teams can register for $150 per team until Aug. 22, after which the fee increases to $200. Sign up online at https://formbuilder.vdomobile.com/view.php?id=1159497.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or just looking for a fun way to support local law enforcement and community charities, the Cops & Bobbers Fishing Tournament offers a great day on the water with a purpose.
