Osage takes down California, Eldon falls at Hallsville and Camdenton drops game to Bolivar
Osage takes down California
Osage is off to a great start in the Tri-County Conference.
The Indians met California Tuesday night in the conference opener and five players reached double figures in an 86-77 win over the Pintos.
“First time we have hit some shots all year,” Osage coach Aaron Shockley said after his club picked up its second win of the season. “We lost two 20-point leads and found ways to come back and win. We played hard and when we do that we are going to give a lot of teams more than they want.”
Dylan Long led Osage with 19 points and Brockton McLaughlin, Logan Havner and Andrew Bryant added 14 points each while Paven Clark finished with 12 and Alton Drace added eight points, respectively.
Osage (2-8, 1-0 Tri-County Conference) will visit Eugene on Friday with junior varsity starting at 6 p.m.
Eldon falls at Hallsville
Eldon visited Hallsville in a Tri-County Conference battle Tuesday night and came home with a 65-57 loss.
The Mustangs kept it close throughout the night and trailed by five with five minutes remaining but could not capitalize on three straight offensive possessions. A pair of 3-pointers pushed the Hallsville lead back to 11 and helped put the game out of reach.
Logan Hall led Eldon with 22 points, Collin Tamm added 12 and Clayton Moore finished with seven.
“The boys played well. One of our best played games of the year,” Eldon coach Cory Casey said.
Eldon (1-12, 0-2 Tri-County Conference) hosts Southern Boone Friday with freshmen starting at 5 p.m.
Camdenton drops game to Bolivar
Camdenton hosted Bolivar Tuesday night and it was a tough one for the Lakers as the Liberators walked away with a 73-52 win.
Camdenton (3-9, 0-2 Ozark Conference) will take on Chillicothe in the Laker Shootout on Saturday.
