Lakers pick up state consideration time in 200 medley relay
Camdenton swimmers were among 900 in the pool representing multiple states in the COMO Invitational over the weekend at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
The Lakers did not get past the prelims, but the 200 medley relay team of Emily Willis, Kiah Seymour, Abigail McGuire and Irelyn Meckley did earn a new personal record and state consideration time with a 39th place finish in the meet. The Lakers also finished with seven new personal records overall.
Other relay finishes included the 200 freestyle team of Adrena Normand, Brooke Echternacht, Reagain Faiferlick and McGuire who finished 47th and the 400 freestyle team of Meckley, Seymour, Raquel Potteiger and Willis who earned 35th.
Willis, who set a new school record in the 100 butterfly during a previous meet at Monett where the Lakers finished ninth overall, earned 61st among the field in the event. Willis also competed in the 100 backstroke where she took 62nd while Meckley came in 120th.
Other individual finishes included Seymour placing 77th in the 200 individual medley, Seymour finishing 72nd in the 100 breaststroke while Amanda ferguson earned 94th and there were plenty of Lakers in action for the 50 and 100 freestyles.
McGuire was the fastest Laker in the 50 as she finished 138th while Normand earned 156th, Echternacht placed 161st and Marran Garrett came in 162nd. Meckley led the 100 group with a 91st place finish while Potteiger earned 133rd and McGuire finished in 135th.
Camdenton will be back at Foster Natatorium in Springfield on Saturday at noon.
