Macks Creek and Climax Springs were in Buffalo on Thursday and the Lake area teams took on the elements in a rainy afternoon before the weather cleared up.

The sun came back out, though, and one Lake area runner came home with a medal as Molly Phillips of Macks Creek placed seventh in a field of 29 runners with a time of 24:13.

Other Pirate runners included Alyssa Seaholm who ran her first race of the year and finished 28th at 33:13 and Chelsey Brown who earned 29th at 33:30. On the boys side, Austin Brown placed 27th in a field of 48 runners at 21:15 and Preston Borgmeyer set a new personal record with a 45th place finish at 25:29. 

The Climax Springs boys were led by Geese Smith who finished 24th at 20:51 while Cole Smith earned 26th at 21:11, John McCartney took 44th at 24:46 and Troy Ethington placed 48th at 28:39. Abby Wolfe led the Cougar girls with a 20th place time of 26:27 and Autumn Wallace came in 25th at 30:11. 

Macks Creek will race in Dixon on Monday at 4 p.m. Climax Springs will race in Humansville on Saturday.
