Lakers improve to 7-0 with hard-fought win over the Falcons

Camdenton was tested and once again- the Lakers found an answer.

Trailing by 15, Glendale fought back to take a 42-35 lead with less than eight minutes left to play and an interception on the ensuing drive put the team in good position to deliver Camdenton its first loss of the season. However, the Lakers got a big defensive stop that allowed senior receiver Jadin Faulconer to run in a game-tying 10-yard touchdown and a second straight three-and-out from the "Purple Haze" defense set up a 43-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Paxton DeLaurent to senior receiver Jase Nicklas with 55 seconds left.

The end result- a 50-42 win that allowed the third-ranked Class 4 team in the state to keep its perfect unbeaten 7-0 record intact.

DeLaurent was 27-37 for three touchdowns as junior wideout Cooper Ezard led the air assault with 11 catches for 129 yards and a score. Nicklas had eight receptions for 127 yards and a score, Faulconer finished with 127 rushing yards and three touchdowns and senior wideout Collin Thomas caught a 12-yard touchdown pass.

Camdenton comes home to face Rolla next week in an Ozark Conference clash on Friday at 7 p.m.
