Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from Camdenton brought 10 individual competitors earning a total of 16 medals.

Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu traveled to the FUJIBJJ Springfield MO Fall Open tournament on September 28, and once again, had much success.

Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from Camdenton brought 10 individual competitors earning a total of 16 medals. This was the first tournament for two LAGJJ competitors. The next competition in the state for the athletes at Lake Area Gracie Jiujitsu will be the FUJIBJJ St. Louis Fall Open Tournament on October 12 in St. Charles.

Overall Standings: Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu placed fifth overall with a total of 101 points.

Children Standings: Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu placed fourth with 82 total points.

Fastest Submissions- Adults: Zachary Grumbois placed first with 42 seconds and he also took seventh place with 85 seconds.

“My students continue to impress me. They get better with every tournament,” Head Instructor and Professor Dave Vinson said. “I’m amazed that a team of 10 can score as many, if not more points as a team of 35.”

Charlie Smith (age 8, Grey/White Belt): Gi - Gold; No Gi - Gold. This was Charlie’s fourth tournament.

Damien Snapp (age 9, 2-stripe White Belt): Gi - Silver; No Gi – fourth place. This was Damien’s 2nd tournament.

Daviah Cashell (age 9, 3-stripe White Belt): Gi - Silver; No Gi – fourth place. This was Daviah’s first tournament.

Preston Schmidt (age 9, 2-stripe White Belt): Gi - Gold; No Gi - Bronz. This was Preston’s first tournament.

Tyler Coleman (age 12, Grey/White Belt): Gi - Silver.

Finnegan McNitt (age 13, Yellow Belt): Gi - Silver; No Gi - Gold.

Nathaniel Beeson (age 13, Grey/Black Belt): Gi – double Gold. Gold. (competed in two gi divisions); No Gi - Gold.

Zachary Grumbois– Adult, 2-Stripe White Belt: Gi - Gold; No Gi - Gold.

Kyle Tuders– Adult, Blue Belt: Gi - Bronze.

Marc Diebold– Adult, Brown Belt: Gi - Silver.
