It took all three sets, but Versailles managed to get the job done in a showdown with Sherwood Monday night.

The Tigers took the first set 26-24, fell 25-21 in the second and closed out strong with a 25-13 win in the finale.

Sara Vogt had three service aces and five blocks for Versailles while Emma Geier led the way with seven kills and all six of Vogt’s kills came in the crucial final set. Coach Jessica Ollison noted that those kills and the “aggressive serving” of Kylie Viebrock sparked the club with a 9-0 run to start out the set. Meanwhile, Gracie Hamrick had a team-leading six digs.

Versailles (1-3, 0-1 Tri-County Conference) was scheduled for a conference road trip to Hallsville on Tuesday and will take another trip to Russellville on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
