The Lower Osage is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is between the 22 and 38-mile marks; the Upper Osage is between the 38 and the Rt. 65 Bridge.

BAGNELL DAM SPILLWAY

Water clarity: Stained. Fishing is slow for all species.

LOWER OSAGE

Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Fair on wacky-rigged Senkos and mojo-rigged plastic lizards in gravel pockets or plastic worms 15 to 20 feet deep on main and secondary points. Crappie: Spotty on jigs 6 feet deep along gravel banks in coves.

GRAVOIS

Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Good on buzz baits in the morning or plastic worms 15 feet deep in brush piles on channel swing banks in creeks. Crappie: Fair on jigs along steep banks in the creeks. White bass: Good on Rapalas and jigs in the creeks in the evenings. Catfish: Fair on cut shad tight-lining along drop-offs.

TRUMAN DAM SPILLWAY

Water clarity: Stained. Crappie: Fair on jigs and minnows. White bass and hybrids: Fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish: Fair on cut shad.

MID-LAKE

Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Good on Carolina-rigged plastic lizards and Brush Hogs or topwater plugs in the pockets of creeks. Crappie: Good on jigs 15 to 18 feet deep along steep banks. Catfish: Good drifting cut shad at the mouths of creeks.

GRAND GLAIZE

Water clarity: Muddy. Black bass: Fair on spinnerbaits close to the bank in coves. Crappie: Fair on jigs 3 to 10 feet deep along gravel banks in coves or suspended in open water and along docks on the main lake.

NIANGUA

Water clarity: Muddy on the lower end and stained on the upper end. Black bass: Fair on jigs, topwater lures and crawfish crankbaits along secondary points and pockets. Crappie: Fair on black-and-chartreuse jigs 6 to 10 feet deep in pockets. Catfish: Good on shad sides and prepared baits.

UPPER OSAGE

Water clarity: Muddy. Black bass: Fair to good on Carolina-rigged plastic worms, Zara Spooks and Whopper Ploppers along secondary points. Crappie: Good on jigs set 1 foot below a bobber in gravel pockets. Catfish: Good on shad sides tight-lining off docks.
