Osage shut out by Boonville, Eldon hit with tough loss to Blair Oaks and Versailles shut down by Iberia
Osage shut out by Boonville
Runs came at a premium when Osage visited Boonville Monday night.
The Indians were unfortunately unable to get any of them in a 3-0 loss to the Pirates. Boonville scored its first run in the first inning and added two more in the sixth to make up the difference.
Osage was hit with 11 strikeouts from Boonville's Reece Lang who worked a complete game shutout allowing just five hits and Andrew Bryant had two of them for the Indians. Trey Rassenfoss started for Osage on the hill and allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings striking out five.
Osage (9-10, 2-4 Tri-County Conference) visits Crocker on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Eldon hit with tough loss to Blair Oaks
It was a rough one for Eldon.
The Mustangs hosted Blair Oaks Monday night and the Falcons drove in plenty of runs in a 27-0 win over the home team in three innings.
Eldon was kept hitless at the plate and drew just two walks on the night and Dawson Brandt took the loss on the mound allowing 11 runs, five earned, on five hits and five walks to go with two strikeouts. Zach Graham, Caleb Wood and Ben Cline worked in relief and the Mustangs' five errors did not help their cause.
Eldon (3-17, 2-5 Tri-County Conference) will host Timberland on Thursday.
Versailles shut down by Iberia
Versailles took a trip to Iberia on Monday and the Tigers fell to the state-ranked Rangers 10-0 in six innings.
Andy Clemens had the lone Tiger hit of the day and Colbey Boicourt took the loss on the mound allowing three runs on four hits and three walks to go with three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Jesse Commer, Josh Leake and Andrew Thompson worked in relief and the Tigers had two errors.
Versailles (6-14, 0-6 Tri-County Conference) was scheduled to visit Blair Oaks on Tuesday and will host Eugene on Thursday.
