School of the Osage remains unbeaten.
The Indians picked up their second win of the season on Wednesday after knocking off the visiting Moberly Spartans 2-1. Osage maintained a steady attack, putting 19 shots on goal while keeper Alyssa Pittenger had to make just two saves.
The scoring began with just under 13 minutes remaining in the first half when Osage’s Lindsey Allen found the back of the net on an assist from Rachel Cicerelli. However, that lead would not last long as Moberly came back with the equalizer just over a minute later.
The Indians came out strong in the second half, though, as what proved to be the game-winning goal took just over three minutes to occur. Timbre Gonnella netted her second goal of the season on an assist from Emily Kostuke and the home side protected its lead the rest of the way.
Osage improves to 2-0 and the Indians were scheduled to visit Father Tolton on Thursday before returning to the home pitch on Monday for a battle with Boonville. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
