Eldon takes down Knob Noster in districts
Eldon boys’ basketball team was the fourth seed against No. 5 Knob Noster in the Class 3 District 10 Tournament Tuesday night in Clinton and the Mustangs prevailed with a 56-55 win over the Panthers.
Eldon’s Landon Wall sunk two free throws with 0.5 seconds left to send the Mustangs to the semifinals.
“The second half was a grind until the final buzzer when the guys executed an out of bounds play to perfection that resulted in Landon getting fouled with a chance to win the game,” Eldon coach Ben Pallardy said. “Hard to fathom a more pressure-filled moment, but Landon was cool and collected and knocked down both free throws to give us the win. We're very excited for the guys and look forward to the challenge against Clinton.”
Elijah Rivera led Eldon with 15 points, Logan Hall added 14, Wall put up 10 and Clayton Moore finished his night with eight points respectively.
Eldon (7-19) will face top-seeded Clinton (13-12) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
