Osage wins thriller over Richland
Osage picked up its first win of the season Friday night at Richland and did so in fairly exciting fashion.
With the game tied and the seconds ticking away, Dalton Depeé found his way to the basket and hit a layup with 3.7 seconds left to give the Indians the lead and what proved to be a 57-55 win.
“All of our seniors stepped up and showed leadership that we have needed and I could not be more proud of them,” Osage coach Aaron Shockley said.
“This group of guys showed a lot of fight tonight. The victory was great for our program, but I truly believe we made huge strides in finding our identity as a team.”
Traygen Whittle led Osage with a career high 17 points and recorded 11 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds, for a double-double. Both Depeé and Parker Jett knocked down 14 points each and Depeé also added six rebounds and assists.
Osage (1-5) will head down the road to face Camdenton on Friday in a Lake area battle at 7 p.m.
