Versailles sweeps Warsaw and Knob Noster

Versailles went to the mats at Warsaw Tuesday night to grapple with the Wildcats and Knob Noster and the Tigers were productive with a 59-18 win over Warsaw and a 46-33 win over Knob Noster.

In the match with Warsaw, Brycen Reynolds got the Tigers started with a 7-3 decision in the 132-pound match and he was not alone as Emmanuel Bryant (138) picked up a pin along with Michael Trotter (182), Gage Tessier (220) and Kannen Wilson (113). Also picking up wins for Versailles was Payton Silvey (145) who went uncontested, Connor Lehman (152) who won a 5-3 sudden victory, Riley Rademann (195) who went uncontested, Sean Dusky (106) who won a 19-4 technical fall and both Clayton Coleman (120) and Payton Lafoy (126) who went uncontested.

Coleman (120) picked up a pin against the Panthers of Knob Noster along with Bryant (138), Lehman (152) and Damian Murray (285). Lafoy (120) took a 9-0 major decision and Trotter (182), Tessier (220) and Wilson (113) went uncontested.

The Versailles girls were also in action against Knob Noster and took a 42-6 defeat as Allison Taylor fell via pin in the 116-pound match and Alana May (235) went uncontested as the only two Tiger wrestlers.

Versailles will visit Hallsville on Friday at 5 p.m.

Osage sweeps Tipton and Springfield Catholic

School of the Osage welcomed Tipton and Springfield Catholic to the mats Tuesday night and had little trouble adding two more dual wins to the resume with a 63-18 win over the Cardinals and a 64-6 win over the Fighting Irish.

In the showdown with Tipton, Ryan Schepers picked up a pin in the 126-pound match and he was joined by Abbey Cordia (132), Chase Cordia (145), Jack Creasy (170), Jesse Schillinger (182), Connor Arrowood (195) and Shane Thomas (285) while Jacob Zelle (113) picked up a 7-3 decision. Also picking up points was Mason Dulle (138) who went uncontested along with Aaron Cuddy (152) and Benden Brell (160). 

The success continued with Springfield Catholic as Kody Dowell (132) was victorius via the pin along with Dulle (138), Cuddy (152), Brell (160), Schillinger (182) and Arrowood (195) while Shane Thomas earned a 12-1 major decision. Zelle (113) went uncontested and Schepers (126), Cordia (145) and Creasy (170) had forfeit victories as well. 

Osage wrestles again on Thursday with Nevada and Bolivar.
