Lakers pick up medals in season opener

Camdenton dove in the pool for the first time this season at the Valkyrie Invitational in Springfield and it was a productive trip for the Lakers as they finished fourth out of 15 teams and picked up a few medals along the way.

Camdenton finished fourth with 160 team points, trailing only Logan-Rogersville (184), Summit Prep (175) and Carthage (170).

“I’m really proud of how the girls did,” Camdenton coach Paige McCane said. “Every swimmer set a new personal record in at least one event. We took two medals for relays and six individual medals.

-200 Medley Relay: Emily Willis, Kiah Seymour, Sasha Prather and Irelyn Meckley (3rd) 2:09.82

Camdenton was scheduled to swim in Monett on Tuesday and will be making a trip to Winnetonka Invitational on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The meet is scheduled to take place at the Gladstone Community Center.
