Q: What are you looking forward to as your team returns for the 2018 season?

A: The boys have been working hard this offseason and have bought into the fast pace style of play which will be different for most people who have watched Camdenton play in the past. I am looking forward to seeing how we have improved since last year, and how we build on how we finished last season.

Q: Are there any definite strengths with this team at this point in time?

A: One strength of this team is we are very versatile and have many guys who can play multiple positions. This allows guys to play aggressive defense knowing that if they have to switch it won't be a bad mismatch somewhere else. Another strength of this team is they all get along and enjoy playing with each other. That chemistry should pay off throughout the year.

Q: As the season goes along, what are you hoping the team can improve upon?

A: As a program we have to improve our offensive efficiency and limit our turnovers. If we can increase our scoring and decrease our turnovers from last year we should improve overall and lead to more success on the basketball floor.

Q: Are there any specific goals and what would you say the keys to success are for this year?

A: Our goal every year to be successful on and off the court. If we play as hard as we can, to the best of our ability, whether the scoreboard shows we won or lost, we will have been successful. What success on our record that comes from that is just icing on the cake!

Q: What are you looking forward to as your team returns for the 2018 season?

A: We will have both of our starting guards back this season, which is always nice. We also will have a lot of depth with 10 players returning who played Varsity minutes last season.

Q: Are there any definite strengths with this team at this point in time?

A: Depth and quickness will be our strengths. Also the leadership we get from our upperclassmen is a definite strength.

Q: As the season goes along, what are you hoping the team can improve upon?

A: We will have to continue to improve defensively. Not only in pressuring the basketball but in securing rebounds after we force misses.

Q: Are there any specific goals and what would you say the keys to success are for this year?

A: Another district championship, more wins than losses and continued improvement at all levels of the program.

OSAGE INDIANS

From Head Coach Aaron Shockley:

Class/District: Class 4, District 9

2017-18 Record or Finish: 13-14

Moved or graduated Athletes: Keyton Knamiller, Zach Wheeler, Issac Yoder, Drake Gaines

Top returners and any accolades: Dalton Depee, Garrett Sutherland, Parker Jett, Trey Rassenfoss, Traygen Whittle

Q: What are you looking forward to as your team returns for the 2018 season?

A: I am very excited to be in Osage, I think we have a good group of guys who are willing to do what it takes to have a successful season. We have changed a few things as far as X’s and O’s but were still going to play hard and disciplined basketball. This group of seniors is big in numbers and have played together for a while now.

Q: Are there any definite strengths with this team at this point in time?

A: This team is very athletic, and deep, we have the ability to rotate guys in and not have a drop off. We have 3-4 guys that have the ability to score 20 points any given night. We have good overall size and we plan to use that to our advantage on defense.

Q: As the season goes along, what are you hoping the team can improve upon?

A: We are going to have to improve everyday at practice that is one of our goals, With a new coach and putting in a new system that takes time, so I’m hoping we will fully understand our concepts by midseason.

Q: Are there any specific goals and what would you say the keys to success are for this year?

A: We haven’t set goals as far as wins and losses, but we do want to compete every night and be great teammates, we're focused on playing the best basketball night in and night out. Improvement every day in practice is a big goal for us also, if we improve every day we believe that will put us in position to be where we want to be at the end of the season.

ELDON MUSTANGS

From Head Coach Ben Pallardy:

Class/District: Class 3, District 10

2017-18 Record or Finish: 0-25

Q: What are you looking forward to as your team returns for the 2018 season?

A: I am looking forward to seeing our players grow as individuals and as a team. We have been working hard on communication and competition and want our young men to have the confidence to give it their all every day.

Q: Are there any definite strengths with this team at this point in time?

A: We have a lot of depth, which makes practice competitive. We also have a lot of players that can shoot it. When we play with confidence we will be able to score in bunches.

Q: As the season goes along, what are you hoping the team can improve upon?

A: Consistency will be key. Being able to keep our composure through the ups and downs of a basketball season can be challenging.

Q: Are there any specific goals and what would you say the keys to success are for this year?

A: A big goal of ours is to stay in the moment. We have to be able to focus on the task at hand, whether that is a game or a practice.

In addition, we have 3 outstanding Sophomores returning, Tristan Roberts, Trevor Haines and Tanner Smith

Q: What are you looking forward to as your team returns for the 2018 season?

A: We have a lot of depth this year and will go 8 deep with lots of experience. We have one of the premier guards and one of the best post players in the area, in all classes. We had a great summer and this team will play as hard as any team in the area.

Q: Are there any definite strengths with this team at this point in time?

A: Our strengths are definitely our experience. Returning 5 players, all with starting experience, along with our top 3 scorers and 4 of our top 5 returning, we should be a fun team to watch offensively.

Q: As the season goes along, what are you hoping the team can improve upon?

A: Our defense will be the area that we are working hard to improve. Even though last years team only gave up 57 points per game, we look to improve on those numbers.

Q: Are there any specific goals and what would you say the keys to success are for this year?

A: Macks Creek is part of the Polk County League Conference this year. It’s the first time in almost 20 years that we have been in a conference. We hope to compete for a conference championship and make a run in Districts. Keeping a balanced attack, tough defense and eliminating turnovers will be the keys to success for this team.
