Gavin Schulte earns trip to state for the Lakers

The swimmers of southwest Missouri gathered in Springfield on Saturday in one of the final meets of the season before state.

Camdenton was one of 20 schools on hand and for the Lakers, it was an opportunity to earn a trip to state as the team had several consideration times including the times of all three relay teams. By the time it was all done, Camdenton finished 12th in the standings with 95 points while Glendale claimed the top prize with 630 points respectively. It would not be the end for the Lakers, though, as a last chance meet was held on Tuesday and Gavin Schulte made the cut for state with a time of 22.58 seconds in the 50 freestyle.

"We had an exciting weekend," Camdenton coach Anna Leezer said. "Lots of dropped times and we moved up the ranks in the state standings. One of our main swimmers was hurt during finals so the relays had to be tweaked a tad, but still a respectable showing at SWMO."

Listed below are the times of each Camdenton swimmer:

-200 Medley Relay: Josef Bernabe, Bryce Leuenberger, Gavin Schulte and Michael Radlund (Disqualified)
