Camdenton sweeps Springfield Central and Versailles cruises by Clinton

Camdenton takes down Springfield Central

Camdenton hosted Ozark Conference newcomer Springfield Central Thursday night and the Lakers did not make it a pleasant visit for the Bulldogs with a two-set sweep.

The Lakers won the first set 25-18 and closed the night out with a 25-17 win in set two.

The Camdenton offense displayed a balanced attack across the board with Payton Kincaid and Natalie Basham leading the way with six kills each while Sydney Smith, Sabrina Seschnol, Madison Robinson and Lauryn Hulett all finished with four kills each respectively. Basham and Kincaid also picked up some quick points with three service aces each and the passing of Smith was consistent with a team-leading 14 assists while Lizzie Miller chipped in six.

Defensively, Kincaid also had a big night at the net with four blocks while Seschnol finished with three and Shelby Kurtz kept the Bulldogs at bay with 12 digs while Smith finished with five.

Camdenton (12-9, 3-2 Ozark Conference) is scheduled to play in the Lebanon Tournament on Saturday before visiting Waynesville on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Versailles sweeps Clinton

Versailles welcomed Clinton to the court on Thursday and had little trouble taking care of the visitors in a two-set sweep.

The Tigers cruised to a 25-5 win in the first game and finished the night with a 25-17 win in set two.

Isabella Edgar led the Tiger offense with five kills, Kylie Viebrock scored some quick points with five aces and Kellan Boehm fueled the attack with six assists. Defensively, Versailles was led by Taralee Edgar’s 15 digs and Carrie Hoffa’s three blocks at the net.

Versailles (7-11-2) will visit Southern Boone on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
