Versailles began the 2018 season at the Marshall Tournament over the weekend where the Tigers went 1-2.
Versailles fell to Warrensburg 13-4 and California 10-0 before taking down St. Michaels 18-3 in the finale.
In the first battle against Warrensburg, Analyssa Pence and Ellie Dunway produced RBIs for the Tigers while Joscelynn Marriott took the loss on the mound allowing 13 hits and eight earned runs in 3.2 innings of work.
Maris Ollison, Madison Lucas-Avey and Lindsay Walls all picked up a hit against California, but the Pintos brought their bats and gave Marriott a loss where she allowed five earned runs on 11 hits while striking out three and walking one.
Versailles had no trouble bringing its own offense in the win against St. Michaels as the Tigers put up 10 hits. Ollison and Marriott produced three hits and two RBIs each while Walls also drove in two runs respectively. Meanwhile, Marriott picked up her first win of the season allowing two hits and a walk while striking out two.
Versailles will be back in action Tuesday night with a trip to Eugene at 5 p.m.
