Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu traveled to the FUJIBJJ COMO CHAMPIONSHIP the weekend of July 14, held at Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia. “We are incredibly proud of our team today. Another challenging jiu-jitsu tournament under our belts. To have 13 competitors bring home 21 medals, and to place 5th overall, is a big accomplishment. We witnessed a lot of great jiu-jitsu today,” said Traci Williams-Vinson, who runs Lake Area Gracie Jiu-Jitsu with her husband and head instructor/coach Dave Vinson.

Dave added, “Each of our competitors trained and worked hard for this competition. I am extremely proud of each and every student, whether they placed or not. Getting out on that mat with such strong opponents from these fantastic Midwest jiu-jitsu schools takes a lot of courage and confidence. The Midwest jiu-jitsu schools have formed a very strong community. There's a motto in the jiu-jitsu community... You either WIN or you LEARN. There's always something to learn about yourself, your jiu-jitsu, your game every time you get on the mat.”
