Lakers produce conference champs in six events

The track and field athletes of Camdenton gathered with the rest of the Ozark Conference Tuesday night in at JFK Stadium in Springfield to settle conference bragging rights.

After all the events were timed, measured and recorded in the books, the Lakers came away with some highlights and produced conference champions in six different events with even more making All-Conference. The Camdenton girls finished fourth with 106 team points trailing conference champion Kickapoo (144.5), West Plains (112.5) and Rolla (111). Meanwhile, the boys finished fifth with 65 points trailing Joplin (132), West Plains (104), Kickapoo (100) and Waynesville (95).

Listed below are the top eight athletes of each event who medaled, made All-Conference and put up points for the Lakers:

Now, Camdenton will get ready for the postseason and begin the journey to state when the Lakers host 11 other teams in Class 4 District 5 action on May 12.
