Laker girls finish 2nd out of 35 teams, boys take 18th out of 34 teams

Camdenton faced a unique challenge Friday evening. 

The Lakers had the opportunity to test their mettle against a large field of teams, and do so out of state as they took a trip to southeast Kansas and competed in the Pitt State (Pittsburgh State) Relays.

After all the events were complete, the defending state champion Camdenton girls finished second out of 35 teams with 74 points and were only bested by Raymore-Peculiar with 76. Meanwhile, the Camdenton boys finished tied for 18th out of 34 schools with 11 points while Carthage claimed the top spot with 94 points of its own.

-100-Meter Dash: Grace Wormek (4th) 12.61 seconds

-200-Meter Dash: Grace Wormek (2nd) 26.57 seconds

-400-Meter Dash: Kylie Meier (1st) 57.92 seconds

-100-Meter Hurdles: Kylie Meier (1st) 14.96 seconds and Natalie Basham (3rd) 15.42 seconds

-300-Meter Hurdles: Natalie Basham (1st) 46.64 seconds

-4x100 Relay: Katie Blackman, Megan Vest, Abbie Miller and Shelby Kurtz (8th) 52.79 seconds

-4x200 Relay: Katie Blackman, Kylie Meier, Natalie Basham and Grace Wormek (1st) 1:46.29

-4x400 Relay: Natalie Basham, Clare Holmes, Grace Wormek and Kylie Meier (1st) 4:09.57


-Javelin: Coley Rezabek (5th) 35.07 meters


-Shot Put: Todd Simpson (5th) 14.65 meters and Josh Semau (6th) 14.21 meters

-Javelin: Gabe Kurtz (5th) 47.77 meters
