Lakers finish 8th at Bolivar, Indians top California and Iberia

Camdenton takes 8th at Bolivar Invitational

Snow cancelled Camdenton’s scheduled trip for tournament play in Sedalia on Monday. However, another tournament was taking place in Bolivar so the Lakers had a chance to play on Monday against 11 other schools at the Bolivar Invitational where they finished eighth.

Lebanon won the tournament with 340 team points and the Lakers put up 378 respectively.

“Bolivar was kind enough to let us play in their tournament last minute so I am very thankful for this opportunity to play a great course at Silo Ridge,” Camdenton coach Shawn Maschino said. “The conditions were better than our last tournament and we improved by 12 strokes.”

Spencer Melville led Camdenton with a round of 87, finishing 11th out of a field of 58. C.J. Rogers posted a 94 to finish 23rd, Preston Kelling shot a 97 to capture 31st, Treyvor Watson recorded a round of 100 to earn 37th and Keith Stehle rounded things up with a score of 109 to finish 45th.

“Preston and Treyvor were able to put together a couple of good 9-hole scores posting 43 on the front,” Maschino added. “We will work towards being more consistent.”

Camdenton was scheduled to host Osage and Bolivar on Tuesday and up next is the annual Laker Invitational on Wednesday that will feature teams from around the state and Kansas.

Osage tops Iberia and California

School of the Osage played host to California and Iberia on a chilly Monday afternoon at Osage National, but the Indians stayed hot on the course with a team score of 167 and 21 strokes better than the second place Pintos to finish first.

“As has been the case, it was rather chilly and windy,” Osage coach L.J. Weeks remarked. “But that is all we’ve seen this season so everyone should be used to it by now.”

Jacob Krantz led the Indians with a 9-hole round of 37, Ethan Kline and Chance Foster both shot a 43, Zach Krantz recorded a 44 and Nick Riley earned a score of 47.

Osage will host Senior Night festivities on Thursday against Fulton and California with seniors being introduced around 3:30 p.m.
