Eldon drops contest to Buffalo

Eldon hosted Buffalo on the hardwood Tuesday night and the host Mustangs came up a little bit short in a 75-65 loss.

Despite a career-high 42 points from Macie Halderman, Eldon could not find a way to get the job done. However, Coach Ashley Agee was pleased with some of the things she saw Tuesday night.

“We played much better as a team, but we have to continue to grow and get better,” the coach said.

Eldon (2-9) will have some time to regroup before the Mustangs look to make a run in the Tri-County Conference Tournament, which runs from December 29 through January 6 at School of the Osage. The No. 4 seed Mustangs will take on No. 5 Southern Boone on December 30 at 4 p.m.

Versailles falls to Warsaw

Versailles hosted Warsaw for its Tri-County Conference opener Tuesday night and a strong second half propelled the Wildcats to a 61-32 win over the host Tigers.

Warsaw held just a 32-22 lead at halftime, but outscored Versailles by 19 over the final two quarters.

Bri Hendrix paced Versailles with eight points, Carrie Hoffa chipped in eight and KyLynn Ballew finished her night with seven.

The Tigers fall to 0-6 with the loss and will take on their neighbors from Stover in the W-K Shootout at State Fair Community College in Sedalia on December 27. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
