Camdenton was back in the pool on Saturday for the Monett Invitational where the Lakers took on 11 other schools.
When all 12 events were recorded, Camdenton finished fourth among those schools with 231 team points, bested only by Carl Junction (376), Monett (309) and Joplin (232).
In the first event of the day, the relay team of Adrena Normand, Erin Leezer, Emily Willis and Mara Heidelbach finished fourth in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:11.87. In the 200 Free Relay, Heidelbach, Leezer, Victoria Watson and Willis finished second with a time of 1:59.38, just narrowly behind the Monett team with a time of 1:53.92. In the final relay event, Normand, Emme Thompson, Sasha Prather and Watson claimed eighth at 4:53.63 in the 400 Free.
The individual events began with the 200 Free where a trio of Lakers entered the pool. Willis had the top Camdenton time, finishing second with a time of 2:12.24 and only behind Parkview’s Audrey Duchscherer with a time of 2:03.52. Meanwhile, Tori Risner finished 18th at 2:54.55 and Reagan Faiferlick took 22nd at 3:02.88.
A pair of Lakers took on the 200 Individual Medley where Heidelbach finished third at 2:30.98 and Normand finished 11th at 3:01.43.
The 50 Free featured five Camdenton swimmers and Watson was the fastest among them with a sixth place time of 30.43 seconds. Aubree Enos recorded a time of 32.31 seconds, but was disqualified while Prather took 10th at 32.92 seconds, Thompson earned 12th at 33.29 seconds and Katie Blackman claimed 15th at 33.99 seconds respectively.
Prather was the lone Laker in the pool for the 100 Fly where she took eighth with a time of 1:24.63.
A total of four Lakers took on the 100 Free and Willis glided through the water once again with a second place time of 1:00.38, bested only by Duchscherer of Parkview again who finished at 57.32 seconds. Leezer finished 12th at 1:14.7, Enos took 15th at 1:15.76, Jada Rowe finished at 1:20.43 but was disqualified and Blackman earned 25th at 1:21.66.
The long-distance race of the 500 Free saw Risner and Faiferlick enter the water. Risner claimed 16th with a time of 8:00.57 and Faiferlick finished 19th at 8:12.1.
In the 100 Backstroke, Normand took sixth with a time of 1:16.94 and Sophia Baudo came in 18th at 1:46.71.
Last but not least, a total of five Camdenton swimmers dove in for the 100 Breaststroke and Heidelbach claimed the top Laker time with a third place finish of 1:18.15. Leezer earned ninth at 1:26.09, Watson took 13th at 1:32.8, Ferguson finished 16th at 1:35.1 and Thompson finished with a time of 1:38.42, but was disqualified.
Camdenton is scheduled to return to the pool for the Como Invite on January 6.
