Jimmy “Dean” Evans, age 61, of Gravois Mills, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020. He was born April 16, 1959, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Charles and Phyllis (Bridges) Evans. On May 27, 2003, he was united in marriage to Donna Doud at their home in Gravois Mills.
Dean co-owned Laurie Marine and Sporting Goods with his parents where he worked as a Master Technician for 43 years.
He enjoyed spending time coin collecting, hunting, woodworking, repairing old Mercury motors and learning about history, but what he loved most was helping anyone and everyone he met. He spent every moment he could on those he loved. He will be remembered by his love and devotion for his family.
In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by his children, Nic Evans and wife Ashley, Amanda Mullins and husband Jeremy, Laura Coons and husband Tony and Charles “Chase” Evans and wife Kellee; step-daughter, Jessica Hazel and husband Clifford; eleven grandchildren; his parents, Charles and Phyllis Evans; his sister, Tenessa Rehmer and husband Jeff; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Woodrow Evans, paternal grandparents, Charles Perry Evans and Ellen Irene Evans, maternal grandparents, Lois and Woodrow Bridges and a nephew, Dennis Hansen.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 16th, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Pastor Kelly Caldwell officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in Garber Memorial Estates. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
