Decaturville - Irene was born near Decaturville, Missouri on April 17, 1931. She was the daughter of William V. Smith and Ollie Miller Smith and the sister to Vencil Smith. She passed into eternal life on June 28, 2021, on her 5-generation family farm near Eldridge, Missouri at the age of ninety years.
On August 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to John Charles Hancock, whereupon they were blessed with two children: John Jeffery (Jeff) Hancock and Paula Irene Hancock Johnson. John preceded her to heaven in January 1999.
In addition to her husband for 22 years Charlie Waller; her son Jeff Hancock and his wife Sheila; daughter Paula Hancock Johnson and her husband Craig Johnson; she is survived by her stepchildren, Shannon Rae Slavens, and her husband Sean; and Michael Casey Waller and his wife Christie.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Philip Johnson and his wife Katherine Johnson; Clay Hancock; Spencer Johnson; Caitlin Johnson; and JoAnna Hancock Morris and her husband Thaddeus Morris; Ty Elley; and Andrea Elley. Three great grandchildren: Parker Johnson; Nathan Morris; and Eliza Morris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside service for Irene will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Zion Cemetery near Lebanon Missouri, with Thaddeus (Tad) Morris officiating.
Family and Friends reception and visitation will be at 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M., Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the T.J. and Delores Shadel Family Center, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
