Lorraine G. Wedig (nee Mack), age 91, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home.
Lorraine G. Wedig (nee Mack), age 91, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home. She was born in Chicago, January 8, 1928, to Roland and Jean (Klumpp) Mack.
Lorraine was united in marriage to George Wedig in 1946. They shared nearly 55 years of marriage together at the time of George’s death on January 21, 2001. Lorraine’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family whenever she could. She loved having fun and playing cards with friends. In Lake Ozark, she was often seen around town with the band of Red Hat Ladies. Lorraine was an executive secretary for International Harvester for almost 20 years. As an active member of her parish, she had been a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality.
She is survived by her sons James (Patricia) Wedig of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Jeffrey (Pamela) Wedig of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; daughter Jean (the late Craig) Pettinger of Antioch, Illinois; brother William Guendling of Clearwater, Florida; sisters Irene (the late Arthur) Selby and Ruth (Bob) Divis of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren Cari, Tom, Chris, Shanda, Ryan and Mark; nine great-grandchildren Tim, Mike, Steve, Abby, Logan, Delaney, Cohen, Sam and Cecelia.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her daughter Joy (James) Nile, brother Richard Mack, and sister Judy (Mike) Morin.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel, 116 North Lake Street, Mundelein, Illinois. Inurnment will be on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
An additional memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 2411 Bagnell Dam Blvd., Lake Ozark, Missouri.
