Christelle Maher
1. Please provide some background on yourself, e.g. experience, work history, family, etc.
After growing up in Indiana and completing 140 hours at Indiana State University in Business Administration and Human Resource Development I moved to St. Louis to begin my career as an executive in the cosmetic industry.
When I moved to the Lake in 1996, I married the love of my life, Gary Maher. My full time job became that of a pastor’s wife and mom. It has been my greatest joy! My husband and I served together in church ministry until he passed away from cancer in 2013. Even during this difficult time, God gave me joy in this journey. My youngest son, Sammy will be attending Liberty University in Virginia this fall, so I’m looking for more ways to serve our community in a meaningful way. I’m blessed to live near my older son Eric, and his wife Christy and my two grandchildren.
My most recent experience includes managing 4 Generations, a home decor store at the Landing from 2013-2021. Currently, I’m working as Front Desk Coordinator at Spa Shiki at the Lodge of Four Seasons and semi-retired! My church home is Calvary Chapel Lake Ozark and we love serving the community together.
2. What is your vision for the Village of Four Seasons?
Being a part of the Village of Four Season has been a wonderful experience for me for the last 26 years and I am blessed to call this beautiful place home. I hope to have the opportunity to represent our community, to build on the progress that has been made over the years and move forward on unfinished projects while discovering new ways to make our community even better. When we can all work together in unity, everyone benefits, and anything is possible!
3. There are four candidates for two positions on the Village Board of trustees. Why should voters vote for you?
I have the time, enthusiasm, and interest to commit to our community and would love the opportunity to serve as Trustee. It’s important that the board works together to accomplish the things the residents need and want. I believe we can do more together than apart and would like the residents to rest assured that the Village Board is united by these shared goals and accomplishing much to benefit our community.
4. What is your position on obtaining easements from Camden County for the hiking and biking trail maintenance since those easements would allow the VFS to apply for a $400,000 grant?
The hiking and biking paths are near and dear to my heart along with many residents in the Village. The maintenance easement is needed to apply for a grant that would save the Village of Four Seasons $400K. These paths are trafficked daily and an important amenity for the residents. It is important to have the funding to keep up with needed repairs or improvements so our residents can continue to enjoy this wonderful amenity.
5. What is your plan to maintain the hiking and biking paths if the grant money is not approved?
This is such a benefit to our community to be able to receive this funding so why wouldn’t the Board request the easement to apply for the grant?
6. What is your position on CART funds? Should the Village keep those funds or turn them over to the Horseshoe Bend Special Road District?
The Village has always been a supporter of the Horseshoe Bend Road District and I see no reason to change that. The HBSRD does a great job, and I fully appreciate their efforts as a resident and would fully support them as a Trustee.
7. Do you support holding work sessions on the Mondays before the board’s regularly scheduled meetings on the second Wednesday? Why?
I do support holding work sessions on Monday before board meetings as needed. Much more can be accomplished at Wednesday board meetings if there is opportunity to discuss issues and especially hot topics ahead of time. Cohesiveness of the board is essential in moving forward and accomplishing great things for the residents of Village of Four Seasons.
8. Add anything else you’d like.
Thank you for taking time to read this! I am running alongside Bob Avery for the two Board positions that are open. We have shared values of integrity, experience, and a willingness to work together for the benefit of our residents in the Village of Four Seasons. Please visit our website to find out more about us.
