Two popular Lake Ozark restaurants, as well as several residents, were without water for several hours on the evening of one of the busiest weekends of the year – during Bikefest and School of the Osage Homecoming.

Attorney Margo Elliott Aruz, representing J.B. Hooks, wrote a letter to the city to share their frustration. She stated that when the water went out around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 more than 400 people were in various stages of dining. They had to turn away another 250 reservations and walk-in diners. Adding insult to injury, they had to pay for several meals and compensate diners when their dining experience was cut short. She estimated that this latest outage, as well as others over the past two years, had cost them $65,000 in lost revenue.
