A pair of Camdenton residents were injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening after swerving to avoid a deer on Highway 94 in Callaway County.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol report states that Ronald Hoffmeister, 54, was heading west when a deer ran out in front of the motorcycle at County Road 459, causing Hoffmeister to swerve to the left to avoid striking the deer. The 2017 Harley Davidson Street Glide overturned on its left side and both Ronald and Christina Hoffmeister, 51, were ejected as the motorcycle slid across Highway 94 and came to a rest on the south side of the road.

Christina was seriously injured and Ronald received minor injuries. Both were wearing safety devices and they were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

The motorcycle was listed as totaled and was towed from the scene.
