On March 5, 2020 at 7:28 AM the Mid-County Fire Protection District, MCFPD, was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at Surf’s Up Laundromat on North Business Route 5 in Camdenton. The fire has been rule suspicious.

On March 5, 2020 at 7:28 AM the Mid-County Fire Protection District, MCFPD, was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at Surf’s Up Laundromat on North Business Route 5 in Camdenton. First arriving firefighters found light smoke coming from the roof and significant smoke inside the building. Firefighters made entry into the building to search for the fire. The fire was located in the rear of the building. Firefighters extinguished the fire and the fire was under control 5 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.
MCFPD responded with 2 Engines, 1 Aerial and a Squad. MCFPD was assisted on scene by the Camden County Ambulance District and the Camdenton Police Department. Additionally, the Osage Beach Fire Protection District was dispatched to the fire incident but was cancelled before arriving on scene.
There was no one at the business at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported with this fire incident.
The interior of the building suffered smoke and water damage with heavy fire damage to a rear portion of the building.
At this time, the cause of the fire is listed as suspicious and is being investigated by the MCFPD Fire Marshal, Missouri State Fire Marshal and Camdenton Police Department.
All firefighters cleared the fire scene at 10:06 AM.
