Construction is underway on what will soon be the premier youth baseball and softball facility in the Midwest. The first pitch at Ballparks National, located just west of Lake of the Ozarks, is scheduled for summer 2020.

Ballparks National general manager Jeff Vernetti says the ownership group has been working to build a facility that will attract teams from around the Midwest and the nation. “We have focused on making this a truly unique experience for the players on the field and the spectators watching the action,” Vernetti said. “I could not be more excited about the opportunity to positively impact the Lake of the Ozarks’ economy, create hundreds of new jobs and introduce new visitors to this beautiful area.”

The project is being privately funded and is expected to inject millions of new tourist dollars into the lake economy. When fully operational Ballparks National is expected to draw as many as 1,500 baseball families a week, providing a tremendous boost to lodging, dining, retail and other businesses around the lake.

More that 100 seasonal jobs will be created when Ballparks National reaches full capacity in 2021. The park’s season will run from March 1 to October 31 each year.

Facilities currently under construction include age-specific baseball fields for ages 8-13 and softball up to high school-age teams.  The project is designed with all-turf fields, LED lighting, batting cages, unique fan viewing areas and a variety of spectator amenities including wonderful food, an outdoor bar and a pro shop.
