Mid-County Press Release:

On February 29, 2020, at 11:53 PM the Mid-County Fire Protection District, MCFPD, was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Recreation Row at Red Oak Resort in Greenview. First arriving firefighters found 3 RV trailers fully involved with fire, 1 structure 25% involved with fire and several propane bottles overheating and releasing. Firefighters started attacking the fire to contain and stop the fire spread. Firefighters used tankers to shuttle water to the fire scene. Firefighters also had to deal with gusting winds and blowing fire embers. The fire was brought under control approximately 45 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.
The 3 RV trailers and 1 structure were a complete loss. It appears that the 3 RV trailers and the 1 structure (which was a rental unit for Red Oak Resort) were vacant the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported with this fire incident.

MCFPD responded with 2 Engines and 2 Tankers. MCFPD was assisted on scene by Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District, Osage Beach Fire Protection District, Lake West Ambulance, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, and Southwest Electric Cooperative. Additionally, the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District responded to MCFPD Station 1 in Camdenton, for any additional emergency calls.

The fire is being investigated by the MCFPD Assistant Fire Marshal. The fire is still under investigation and does not appear to be suspicious at this time.

All firefighters cleared the fire scene at 3:15 AM.
