Every year at the Newcomers Longtimers December luncheon, we present the checks to the scholarships and charities that were designated as the recipients of the monies raised by the 2019 Home Tour.

This year, we were pleased to present four scholarship checks to nursing school students at Columbia College. There to accept their scholarships were Jennifer Hill, Kayla Sloan, Morgan Sloan and Kerri Whitehurst. A donation check to Wonderland Camp was presented to Mike Clayton and the check to Camden County Child Advocacy Council, was presented to Martha Woods-Driskel. Each of them spoke a bit, and explained a little bit about their charities and what they do for the community. In addition to the award presentations, Norman Murphy of the Missouri Highway Patrol was the guest speaker of the month. He presented us with an interesting and powerful talk on how they are training officers to spot possible Human Trafficking during a regular traffic stop.

We will again be having the Home Tour in May 2020 to raise money and support these worthwhile charities and these young people as they pursue an advanced degree.
