St. Anthony Catholic Church will once again celebrate Thanksgiving Day with a free turkey dinner for our Lake community. The dinner, turkey and all the trimmings, will be served on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th from 11 am to 2 pm in our parish hall, 1874 N Business Route 5, Camdenton. All are invited, especially the homeless, those who cannot afford all the “trimmings”, and those who are alone and would enjoy some company on this special holiday. Meals will be delivered to the homebound.
This will be our 14th annual Thanksgiving dinner. It has become a tradition at St. Anthony’s and encompasses volunteers from many local churches and others in our community. The meal is prepared in our church kitchen, with the delicious desserts baked by our parishioners and brought in from home. Last year we served nearly 400 people and our attendance grows each year. Volunteers decorate the tables, prepare and serve the meal, deliver meals to the homebound, and of course help with clean-up.
The out-pouring from people who volunteer is beautiful to see. Entire families come to help and we see lots of smiles. If you would like to volunteer, please call Lisa Black- Schwandt at 573-216-0209. To request delivery of a meal, or to volunteer to deliver meals, please call Joyce Robins at 573-317-0121.
