The first newspaper in this area was the Stet.  Next came the Camden County Rustic, the Village Echo, the Enterprise, and then the Reveille in 1879. This ad appeared in the Reveille circa 1904. The World’s Fair in St Louis introduced several new ideas including: Under-water electric lights.  Edison was the chief Fair electrician. Incubators for babies exhibit (with real babies), largest search light in the world, ragtime music was introduced, first horse show, ice cream waffle cones, Heinz pickles, hot dogs, and peanut butter.
