A vehicle has been overturned on US54 in Camdenton near McDonald's. Drivers in the area are asked to use caution when driving in the area.

Camdenton Police have released a statement on the accident. It reads as follows:

On Tuesday, September 17th at approx. 12:05 AM, officers with the Camdenton Police Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on E. Hwy. 54 in front of McDonald's Restaurant. Upon arrival, officers observed a 2014 Toyota Corolla upside down on the Highway. The driver, 25 year old Travis Simmons of Camdenton, had been able to exit the vehicle safely.

The crash apparently occurred when Simmons was traveling in East on the inside lane of Hwy. 54 behind a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 21-year-old Kyrah Lewis of Roach, MO. As Lewis was attempting to pull left into the turn lane, she hit her brakes when a third vehicle pulled into the lane. Simmons found he had no place to go and his Toyota made contact with the Trailblazer, causing his vehicle to roll over onto its top and side.

Simmons was cited for Following Too Close with a court date scheduled for November 6th. Both parties refused medical care.
