“May 1930, 82 New Hired” is noted on the backside of this photo from the Museum’s archives in the George P. Jessup Collection. Ralph Street interested Stone & Webster in the Dam project. S & W  redesigned the project to serve the power needs of Union Electric Light and Power Company of St. Louis. Jessup was one of the best Stone & Webster superintendents. He regularly viewed the work sites by telescope from his front porch. His photographic documentation of the entire project are invaluable in preserving the history of Bagnell Dam.
