Old Navy has announced plans to open a retail outlet in Prewitt Point development next spring.

Prewitt’s Point representative Andy Prewitt says construction on a 12,500 square-foot store will begin within the next three months. The new building will be next to Target.

“We are excited to add Old Navy to our retail mix,” Prewitt said. “They are a solid company with a big following so we expect there are a lot of people around the lake who will be excited as well.”

Old Navy, which is named after a bar in Paris, was founded in 1994 by Millard Drexler. The store focuses on trendy but affordable clothing and has enjoyed international success. There are more than 1,000 Old Navy stores worldwide.
