George Herschel Bowen, Jr., 71, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his home.

George Herschel Bowen, Jr., 71, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his home.  He was born on August 5, 1947, in Macon, Missouri, a son of George and Margery (Dye) Bowen, Sr.  George was united in marriage on April 12, 1974, in Riverside, Missouri, to Patricia Crews.
George graduated from North Kansas City High School and earned his Associates Degree in Electronics from Maple Woods Community College.  He served his country in the United States Air Force and the Missouri National Guard.  George was employed with General Instrument in Kansas City and Mexico.  He worked for Com-tek in Sedalia where he retired after 19 years of employment.  
George was a member of the American Legion and the NRA.  He enjoyed target shooting and was a gun collector.  He liked cruising the open road on his motorcycle and watching "Law and Order".  George was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan.  Most of all he cherished the memories made with his family and friends.
Along with is wife of 45 years, Pat, he is survived by his mother:  Margery Williams; son:  Sean "Skip" Bowen (Ashley) of Sedalia; step-sons:  Bryan Graham (Sandy) and Louis Graham; brothers:  David Bowen and Stephen Bowen; sister:  Brenda Bowen; grandchildren: Sean Bowen II, Branden Bowen, Olivia Bowen, Aaron Graham and Lilyann Graham; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
George was preceded in death by his father: George; and sister: Linda Bowen; sister in-law: Marie Bowen.
A celebration of George's life will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Cross Creek Campground.
