The vehicle struck a road sign, a ditch and a tree before coming to rest.

A driver falls asleep at the wheel and the passenger was left with minor injuries Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, passenger Velma Hodges, 70, of Lebanon, had minor injuries after an accident on Route BB at Pritchett Road in Camden County.

On Mon., Apr. 8 at 2 p.m. driver William Hodges, 73, of Lebanon, fell asleep at the wheel. The 1998 GMC Sonoma William was driving crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a road sign, a ditch and a tree before coming to rest. An ambulance transported Velma to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon.

The GMC was totaled. The crash report indicated Velma was wearing a seat belt, but William was not wearing one.
